The CFII Course at Fly Around Arkansas is a very thorough and extensive program requiring hard work and dedication from the student and their instructor. The course encompasses 25 hours of ground school plus flight training in our aircraft. The CFII Course is about being able to teach aviation, both on the ground and in flight. Teaching is something that requires a lot of practice to perfect your skills to provide a positive experience for your students.
This course is not about your piloting; it is about mastering the art of teaching aviation. This is the reason why the CFII course is always ground-heavy. The 25 hours of ground school includes all the subject areas covered in the Instrument Flight Instructor Aeronautical Knowledge. You will spend more time doing self-study on your own than with your instructor.
As part of our program, you will be involved with other students in ground and flight training while your instructor is supervising. By the time you are ready for your FAA check ride, you will have gained all the knowledge and confidence necessary to qualify as a Certified Flight Instructor (Instrument) and teach others.
